It seemed as if Kim had been suffering from some kind of an allergic reaction.
However, it is likely that she was attempting to prevent people from seeing the aftermath of a possible cosmetic procedure that she most likely had.
Kim Basinger, has been under suspicion for a long time for being a plastic surgery addict, taking advantage of cosmetic procedures to maintain her youthful appearance.
The fact that her face appears absolutely unnatural, excessively full and puffy is an indication that she has been overindulgently using dermal fillers, such as Juvederm. Her appearance at the time when she was seen exiting a medical building was further confirmation of this, but that is not all.
Dr. Jonathan Hall, one of Boston’s leading plastic surgeons, points out Kim Basinger’s face was recently an example of a volume deformity. He believes that she had probably been hiding a swollen face, which is a temporary aftereffect of dermal fillers and usually goes down and disappears anywhere between 3 days and 4 weeks.
As things stand, it does seem that Kim had a facelift and Botox injections at some point recently, and there are plenty of pictures around to prove it.

Dr. Jonathan also has his doubts that Kim may have gone overboard with hyaluronic acid fillers, and if that is the case, then she could get hyaluronidase injected into her face to reverse the results.
He also suspects that it could be a granulomatous reaction, which is a chronic inflammatory condition. If this was the case, he suspects that Kim may have gotten Sculptra injected into her face around that time and could have possibly been getting a dilute steroid injected into her face in order to treat the condition.
He also highlights an overdose of fat injections as a reason behind Kim Basinger’s temporary swelling and treating it would have been difficult, unless Kim resorted to small small liposuction cannulas. Since Kim Basinger is back to looking somewhat glamorous, he believes that this could be a result of some filler recovery.
