[ads1 id=”alignright”]In recent years, millions of girls and women have been charmed and enthralled by Ian Somerhalder’s handsome good looks, muscular body and stunning eyes.
The heartthrob actor who is in his mid thirties has been starring in the CW’s supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries since 2009 and he has been in shape ever since his days of staring as Boone in ABC’s Lost.
Along with a healthy diet, his muscular physique is most likely also a result of his workout routine, which he takes extremely seriously.
Ian Somerhalder claims that it is because of his good health that he is able to work 80 hours a week, which according to him, requires lots of energy and stamina.
Although Ian is right, it is also likely that his long work week also has played some part in keeping him in shape. Nonetheless, a major part is obviously played by his workout routine.
Like most male celebrities, Ian Somerhalder goes to the gym a lot. In fact, he also works with a personal trainer in order to continue looking like Damon Salvator, the toned and well built vampire he portrays.
Apparently, his workout routine even has a name, and it is called the “Prison Workout.” Exercises like body planks, burpees, pull ups and pushups are apparently included in Ian Somerhalder’s workout routine.
Furthermore, Ian Somerhalder also often goes for a one, two or three mile run because he seems to know firsthand that it can prove to be helpful when the pressure and stress become a burden. Ian claims that running pushes the body, as a result of which chemicals are produced by the body that can make people feel better.
Ian Somerhalder also believes that his good health is due to focus and positivity, but these alone have obviously not made him so muscular.
His healthy diet of fruits, lean meats, vegetables and whole grains also plays a role in helping him remain fit, lean and muscular.
